The Hive
An iconic installation originally designed by artist Wolfgang Buttress for the UK Pavilion at Expo 2015 in Milan, now permanently located at the Royal Botanic Gardens, Kew, in London. The Hive is constructed from thousands of pieces of aluminum, forming a lattice that mimics the structure of a beehive. The lights embedded within the lattice respond to real-time activity of bees in a nearby hive, creating a dynamic and immersive experience that connects art, architecture, and science.
